Now for those of you who already have your dream rifle what about an upgrade on the optics?

Released this Autumn the Pard DS35 is a revolutionary new optic that builds on the massive success of the NV008s.

The first thing that users will notice is that the DS35 now takes the form of a traditional rifle scope. Core to the new form factor is a world first for NV Scopes, an 800x800px round display. The unique LTPS unit delivers high-clarity images with rich contrast and an extra-wide field of view for enhanced situational awareness. This perfectly formed screen fits neatly in the DS35s eye piece, for an experience close to using a traditional glass day scope. Other advantages include a 70mm objective, 5.6-11.2x magnification range and a 30mm Aluminium alloy body that enables the use of both traditional scope rings and rifle specific mounting systems.

At the heart of the DS35 is a state-of-the-art CMOS 0.001 Lux 2K imaging sensor, which when coupled with the units directional 850nm IR can see user push their night shooting out to 350m and beyond. Clarity is further enhanced by Pards custom developed VLEA imaging engine. This clever software upgrade helps the DS boost clarity by over 20% when compared to the older NV008p models.

Whilst clarity and handling are two of the 35s most obvious features, they are not the only enhancements shooters can expect.

The new kid on the block features a more intuitive one shot zero, where the image shifts to compensate for elevation and windage adjustments.

Like other Pard models the DS35 is a great choice for both day and night use, with full colour image modes available until the darkest parts of the night, at which point users can switch colour pallets for optimal image recognition when they can make use of the units powerful built-in IR.

In addition to improved tech, the DS35 retains all the popular features of the previous models including Wifi Connectivity, self-activated recording and a fully waterproof construction.

Once again we'd like to thank all our customers for you continued support of our small business we strive to be constantly giving you the best deals and the latest gadgets to make sure you're always leaving Drapers Gun Centre satisfied.

Something on the side? New Side Lever Rifles available at Drapers

Looks like we’ve got a couple new contenders getting in on the Side Lever game here at Drapers Gun Centre Nottingham with the familiar face of the Daystate Huntsman Revere in .177 and .22 now in a new lightweight Safari Stock and the Brand New BSA CLX R12 in .177 and .22 a hybrid rifle between the ever popular R10 and CLX models of rifle using a 12 shot magazine from the CLX and the bottle from the R10 this is sure to start turning some heads down at the range.

Daystate Revere Safari

The new Safari Edition Huntsman Revere incorporates Daystate’s tactile, raised-grain stock with height adjustable cheekpiece, increasing this classic model’s appeal both to hunters and target-minded shooters

Classic sporter looks, a sleek design and a lineage tracing back to Daystate’s inception over 40 years ago: the Huntsman series is iconic and has remained a firm favourite with field shooters the world over. The latest, Huma-Air regulated Revere sets performance levels good enough to entice precision-minded target shooters too, and this has led to the development of the new Safari Edition – a Huntsman offering added practicality and versatility for field and range shooters alike.

The Safari Edition features Daystate’s tactile, raised-grain wood stock. Ambidextrous and incorporating a lower-seated action that’s been a hallmark of the Huntsman’s design for years, the ‘high-grip’ advantages the textured Safari stock brings are further enhanced by stippled panels to the grip and forend. Combined with its natural camouflage look, it has all the perfect attributes for the field.

However, the Safari Edition’s stock has been subtly tweaked to also accommodate the needs of target shooters, without compromising the Revere’s inherent sporter feel. A rise-and-fall cheekpiece allows perfect eye alignment for both varmint and target-styled scopes – and its comb is finished in a soft-feel rubber for extreme comfort in all conditions and shooting disciplines.

The Safari stock’s forend has been shaped to suit all holds and disciplines, too, with a broader shape and flatter base to assist those preferring to shoot off a bench. Its weight-relieved construction will appeal to hunters with large permissions to trek across, though stud-points have been incorporated for those who want to fit a sling, bipod or other shooting aid. The scalloped butt is as practical as it is aesthetic, ensuring good balance in the shoulder for hunters, and making the ideal anchor if shooting off a benchrest or bean bag.

Action-wise, the Safari Edition keeps all the attributes that have made the Huntsman Revere Daystate’s biggest-selling rifle: a factory-installed Huma-Air regulator, sidelever cocking – user swappable for right- or left-hand use – that keeps cocking effort minimal even on the 40ft/lb model, self-indexing magazine with new loading gate (with a single-shot loading tray supplied for those who prefer to manually feed their pellets), probe-charging with integral rotary dust cover, shrouded match-grade barrel with threaded muzzle, adjustable two-stage trigger with manual safety catch and a tough, anti-glare metal finish.

Available in gun shops from the end of July 2022, the new Safari Edition of the Huntsman Revere melds sporting and target elements in perfect harmony. The classic Daystate that always offered perfect combination of performance, handling and style now just became even more versatile.

BSA R12 CLX Pro

Following the successful unveiling of the Ultra CLX model in 2021, BSA Guns are delighted to announce their next launch in form of the R12 CLX Pro. This will initially be available in .177 and .22 with additional calibres planned.

Building on the success of the ‘Thumbhole’ version of the R10, we have designed the new, Mono-block side lever, regulated R12 CLX Pro to maintain the classic and much-loved Thumbhole stock. Maintaining the core benefits and features of the Ultra CLX and utilising the Sidelever action launched exclusively in the 160th Anniversary Ultra CLX, this new gun combines the key features and benefits into our new Flagship model. As ever BSA will present the R12 CLX Pro in one of Minelli’s quality made stocks. This latest thumbhole variant will be available in both walnut and black pepper laminate.

Designed, developed and manufactured at our Head Quarters, in Birmingham England, we have taken advantage of the very best in new design and prototyping processes and facilities, the benefits of this new PCP are easily seen when compared to its ancestor the R10 TH, and no doubt other competitor products. With over 50,000 test shots put through our specially designed automated test equipment, we truly have put this new PCP through its paces.

Throughout this process, we have kept the core values of the ‘R10’ firmly at the forefront of our minds. We engaged with the expert designers at Minelli in Italy to ensure we jointly delivered a stock design that was clearly a “BSA Thumbhole”. The achieved result completely met the brief.

Accuracy, Precision and Craftmanship have been combined to produce this next generation, new R12 CLX Pro but don’t just take our word for it, judge it for yourself and come on over to have a feel of the future.

As always we love to see new products come out from some of the shops favourite manufacturers and we’d love to hear your opinion on them too. So if you're looking for a new hunting rifle or just wanting a new range gun before the holiday season kicks in why not have a look at some of the latest out!

Drapers at the Shooting Show

As many of you have probably seen from our post Last Week Team Drapers went all out at the Shooting Show last Sunday. We saw a few familiar faces from the shop and it was lovely to meet you all as well as getting to know some of our suppliers so we thought we’d let you all know how our little trip went.

Starting on Saturday we closed up a little earlier than usual to make sure we all had enough time to get down to the show, the Team quickly getting changed out of their uniforms into something more show worthy. We sadly didn’t catch any of the show Saturday but arriving at the hotel we heard nothing but good things making us excited for the coming day.  That night we went out for a meal with the folks at Sportsman Gun Centre, who had kindly offered to show us around their stall the next day. We all enjoyed some wonderful food, the lads a little annoyed at there being no ribs but quickly switched to burgers instead, and had some great conversation before retiring for the night.

Waking it up it was a quick hotel breakfast and then off to the show. Starting off we first made our way over to Edgar Brothers, as their wood panelled stall always stands out in a crowd, we were intrigued by their .22lr Rifles, specifically the GSG STG44 and Model 16 both of which offer a nice semi auto 22 at only a £450 price point. They also had a new model of the Hatsan Factor available with a shortened barrel which offered a large capacity and tactical stock for the same price as an entry level PCP, not a bad offering given the looks.

Moving on to what Sportsman had to offer and there was a lot. Given our current interest in shotguns as our licence changes over we all had a good look at the ATAs which we were absolutely shocked at the quality to price difference with these Turkish bad boys offering Italian Level Craftsmanship at American level pricing! Sportsman have even acquired CZ so the Czech are getting in on the action with lots of bolt actions on the way. Sportsman also revealed to us a new Pard Scope along with automatically upgrading the ones we already had on order to the new ones, talk about speed, meaning that Drapers Gun Centre will be among the first to see what this new 008 has to offer.

After talking with both Sportsman and Edgar Brothers we had a chance to wander around a bit for ourselves seeing what everyone else had on offer. BSA had once again put their historical foot forward showing off both the BSA of the past and the BSA of the future. We got a quick look at the new RAWS guns, the new breed of Theobens, definitely something to be on the lookout for those of you wanting to upgrade your old Rapid 7. Umarex had some interesting offers for those out there wanting accurate HK replicas with their blowback PSG1 being an almost exact copy of the real steel variant but at almost a 3rd of the cost of the real thing!

Finally we got to sample some of the smaller stalls, and their cakes!, before Josh had a go on the Tactical Training Scenario although he might need a few more tries to beat the top score. Overall we had a fantastic day out and hope you all did too and we can’t wait to see what next years British Shooting Show has to offer.

BSA Ultra CLX 160 Commemorative Edition Release At Drapers Gun Centre

Set to be released on the 22nd of November 2021. BSA have once again celebrated their long and illustrious history with the brand new BSA Ultra CLX 160 Commemorative Edition, Now available for reservation at Drapers Gun Centre Nottingham Retailing at £999.

Working with BSA now for some years it often becomes easy to forget the once humble beginnings of this now monumental company. Starting all the way back in 1854 an association of fourteen Master Gunmakers was formed in Birmingham, England to regulate output, fair prices, and quality of arms manufactured for government contracts. These fourteen members became the founding shareholders of the Birmingham Small Arms Company Ltd when it was formed in 1861. Now 160 years on from that date, BSA have commemorated this achievement with the launch of a very special anniversary edition PCP air rifle. The Ultra CLX 160 (side lever action).

BSA have taken their new Ultra CLX PCP, launched earlier this year, and added some very special and unique features. Only 160 units produced in both .22 calibre and .177 calibre for sale to the UK market. The special features included are as follows:

  • Ultra CLX with Sidelever action including 160th year anniversary marking.
  • Minelli ‘Black Pepper’ Laminate Commemorative stock, with special 160 years logo laser engraved on the bottom of the pistol grip. A feature which will never be repeated.
  • Colour coded safety catches matched to the rifle calibre to compliment the magazines.
  • Commemorative certificate of authenticity with the rifle's unique serial number hand signed by BSA’s present managing director.
  • A special 160th year souvenir fabric patch only available to those who purchase this special package.
  • Supplied with commemorative collector’s edition packaging, hard synthetic carry case, BSA 3-9x50 scope, BSA moderator and tin of BSA premium pellets.

BSA Guns have decided upon the side lever action as an innovative way of enhancing this one-off edition. We decided to take what we had delivered on the Defiant, and incorporate that into a traditional Carbine/rifle PCP. The result is a smooth robust action which ergonomically fits and functions perfectly on this unique BSA sporter.

The prestige Minelli stock is made from their ‘Black Pepper’ laminate, a favourite with BSA and its customers. On this commemorative model a specially engraved anniversary marking has been laser engraved onto the stock, and will also appear etched on the gun's action, making no mistake this is a very special BSA collector’s edition.

As always we at Drapers Gun Centre are looking forward to joining in with the celebrations of BSA’s 160 years of exceptional service, with their new commemorative rifle, here in Nottingham and we are always looking forward to what game changing innovations they bring to the table in the future.

BSA Ultra CLX Release at Drapers Airguns

Released on the 5th March 2021, BSA revealed their latest Airgun – a brand new air rifle to celebrate the fact they are 160 years old this year.  Quite aptly they have named the gun the CLX – which if you look at it in Roman Numerals, that is exactly what it is.

BSA Ultra CLX Airgun

Here at Drapers Airguns in Nottingham we were one of the first to know of this Airgun release from BSA, and we were able to get our hands on ten of the First Edition Ultra CLX Packs and have plenty of the standard CLX Airguns coming into stock.  But more on these later.

BSA, Birmingham Small Arms, have been situated in Birmingham since 1861 where the design, development and manufacturing takes place on the famous Armoury Road headquarters. They have taken advantage of the latest cutting-edge technologies to develop an extraordinary compact PCP air rifle and we certainly agree it is rather fantastic.  Studying the gun everything has changed, bar the trigger guard, cold hammer forged barrel and bolt, but there is no mistaking the gun’s heritage.

A beautifully balanced and designed gun, it really does elevate the BSA brand.  The newly designed Monoblock chassis is purpose built, reducing internal components thus improving reliability and efficiency and will enhance your shooting to a thrilling new level.  A superbly accurate gun for ratting, range shooting, hide hunting and much more.

Similar to the BSA Ultra, it is shorter in length and ideal for someone who is in the market for a more compact airgun with a manageable weight, perfect for shooting even in some of the tightest spaces. Teamwork between Minelli in Italy and BSA has produced an ambidextrous original-looking Minelli crafted stock incorporating a stippled pattern giving the fore stock a nice feel.  The First Editions are made in Walnut and the standard in Beech.  Studs have been fitted on both the front and rear for easy fit of a bipod or sling as well as a rubberised butt pad for ultimate comfort.

The BSA CLX introduces BSA’s brand new anti-double load 12 shot magazine systems which comes with a shot countdown indicator. No more double loads! Efficiency is greatly increased, as well as air capacity, and you could achieve an increase in shot count of 50%.  Also a newly designed fully adjustable trigger – length, laterally and radially.  Plus – again brand new – the rotary safety catch design with a red dot immediately perceptible when you’re live.

This is the new generation BSA airgun that customers will want!

The BSA CLX is being released in both .177 and .22

Length – 82cm / 32inch

Weight – 2.6kg / 5.7lbs (gun only)

Magazine capacity – 12

Shot count - .177 60 shots

                        .22 72 shots

Maximum Muzzle Velocity - .177 700ft/s

                                                    .22 570 ft/s

The First Edition is a limited run of two hundred units that BSA have produced.  At Drapers Airguns, as with other dealers, we were limited to five in each of .177 and .22 which have unfortunately now sold out within three days of release!  The First Edition includes a Walnut Minelli stock, a BSA Essentials 3-9x50 WR Scope, BSA Silencer and a hard synthetic carry case.

Arrival date for the BSA CLX will be from the first week of April 2021 to Drapers Airgun Centre, Nottingham.
